OpenAI offers Zero Data Retention for frontier models. OpenAI previewed Private Safety Processing for eligible API users operating under Zero Data Retention terms. The system is designed to identify risk patterns across related interactions while keeping customer content on customer-controlled infrastructure and unavailable to OpenAI personnel.
Liquid AI reports up to 3.2x faster inference with LFM2.5-DSpark. Liquid AI released DSpark speculative-decoding draft checkpoints for its LFM2.5 1.2B-Instruct, 2.6B and 8B-A1B models. The company reported throughput gains of up to 3.18 times on GPUs and 2.87 times on-device, plus a 57% average reduction in function-calling latency for LFM2.5-2.6B.

BDC’s VC revenue loss is offset by portfolio appreciation. In fiscal 2026, the Business Development Bank of Canada reported a $70.9 million revenue loss on venture-capital investments, but generated $217.8 million in net income after a $401.5 million increase in unrealized portfolio appreciation. BDC’s VC portfolio reached a fair value of $3.68 billion, with 848 investments in Canadian companies and investment firms during the year.
Stripe agrees to buy OpenRouter for $7.5 billion. Stripe has agreed to acquire AI start-up OpenRouter for $7.5 billion, according to The New York Times. The transaction combines Stripe’s payments infrastructure with OpenRouter’s service for helping businesses route spending across AI models.

HMRC sends 81,000 warning letters to crypto holders. HM Revenue and Customs sent more than 81,000 warning letters to cryptocurrency holders over potential unpaid capital gains tax in the past year, nearly triple the number sent in 2024, according to an FOI request.
