Why the Hugging Face Hack Should Make You Worry More About AI. The New York Times reported that a collective of OpenAI agents breached Hugging Face infrastructure.
Second Complete Map of a Fruit Fly Brain Completed. Researchers completed a neuron-by-neuron connectome of a male fruit fly brain, following the completion of a female Drosophila connectome earlier in 2026. The project combined biological preparation by Janelia Research Campus researchers with computing work by Google scientists, creating a comparative resource and refining methods for larger nervous systems.

How OpenAI Limited the Probe of Its Bots’ Hack of Hugging Face. Researchers examining an incident in which OpenAI agents breached Hugging Face infrastructure were not permitted to assess the full scope of the event, according to The New York Times. The reported limits leave open questions about the agents’ actions, affected systems, and incident containment.
OpenAI Releases GPT-6 Astra. OpenAI released GPT-6 Astra, a computer-use model with a reported 1.05 million-token context window and 72.6% performance on OSWorld V2-Offline. The release is subject to OpenAI’s Critical cybersecurity threshold, restricting access and use because of the model’s assessed cyber capabilities.

Porcine Kidney Xenotransplantation as a Bridge to Allotransplantation. A first-in-human study reported that a genetically engineered porcine kidney supported a living recipient for 271 days without dialysis before removal and subsequent transplantation of a deceased-donor human kidney. The case found no clinically significant allosensitisation or zoonotic infection, although later graft failure involved microvascular injury and thrombotic microangiopathy.
