Wonderful More Than Doubles Its Valuation to $5B. Israeli-Dutch AI startup Wonderful raised a $550 million Series C at a $5 billion valuation, more than double its $2 billion valuation from nearly six months ago. Insight Partners led the round again, with Salesforce joining existing investors as the company expands localized customer-service AI agents across more than 35 countries.

Wonderful’s $5B valuation is a bet that localized customer-service agents can scale internationally, not evidence that they already have. Salesforce strengthens that bet; the clearest test is whether Wonderful’s next financing exceeds $5B.

The U.S. government filed a 20-page brief backing OpenAI in The New York Times copyright lawsuit, arguing that U.S. AI leadership and competitiveness are national interests. The filing supports OpenAI's argument that training large language models on copyrighted material without permission can qualify as fair use.

Anthropic Launches Claude Fable 5.1 and Mythos 5.1. Anthropic made Claude Fable 5.1 generally available and opened Claude Mythos 5.1 to vetted cybersecurity and life-sciences organizations through restricted-access programs. It also cut Fable cached-context read costs by 75% and introduced Enterprise Frontier Safeguards for enterprise deployments.

Anthropic’s 75% cut makes Fable 5.1 its immediate enterprise wedge for persistent agents, while Mythos 5.1 remains restricted to vetted cybersecurity and life-sciences groups. Watch whether Mythos access expands beyond those programs.

Google Will Not Have to Sell Its Ad Exchange. A U.S. federal judge ruled that Google will not be required to divest its advertising exchange following the company's 2025 ad-tech antitrust loss. The court found that Google illegally tied publishers to its exchange, but did not find liability in advertiser-side tools.

Google keeps AdX after its 2025 ad-tech loss, preserving the publisher-side exchange a federal judge found it illegally tied. That positions Google to bundle ad-AI with AdX; watch for pressure on Meta DSPs by Q1 2026.

Google Buys 396 MW of Enhanced Geothermal Power From Fervo. Google agreed to purchase 396 megawatts from Fervo Energy's planned Cape Station enhanced-geothermal plant in Utah, expected to begin operating in 2028. The agreement also gives Google an option through June 2030 to buy an additional 600 megawatts for a planned Utah data center.

Missouri Voters Recall Councilman Over Data-Center Support. Initial election results in Independence, Missouri, showed voters overwhelmingly recalling a city councilman who supported billions of dollars in tax incentives for a data center. The vote puts local opposition to data-center development and incentive packages at the center of a municipal election.

150MW makes Independence’s incentive debate a grid-capacity referendum: that load equals about 110,000 Missouri homes, putting household bills ahead of tax-base claims. At Independence’s next municipal election, the test is whether candidates can defend a deal without new transmission.

Google Launches Proactive Cyber Defense Program. Google announced the Fairwind Program, a limited-access initiative providing governments and trusted partners with its cyber-defense tools. The program creates a formal channel for selected public-sector and partner organizations to use Google security capabilities to defend networks and infrastructure.

Google is using Fairwind to formalize selective deployment of its cyber tools, not broad sales. The test by year-end is whether it names eligible users beyond governments and trusted partners.

Obesity Leaves a Lasting Memory in Immune Cells. University of Birmingham researchers reported that obesity can leave molecular changes in key immune cells for five to 10 years after weight loss. The findings suggest this retained immune-cell state may help explain why some obesity-related risks remain elevated despite normalized body weight.

10-year immune-cell memory makes current weight an incomplete measure of obesity-related risk after weight loss. The test is whether 5-10-year follow-up links these retained changes to persistently elevated risk.
